This Cookie Policy explains how PulseRank (“we”, “us”, “our”) uses cookies and similar technologies on:
- the PulseRank Marketing Site (pulserank.ai and marketing/documentation subdomains), and
- the Freemius billing environment (checkout, subscriptions, invoices/receipts, refunds, and customer portal).
For broader information on how we process personal data, please see our Privacy Policy.
Important note about the Plugin
Cookies set by the PulseRank WordPress plugin are set on your own WordPress site domain, not on pulserank.ai. As the operator of your website, you are responsible for disclosing and obtaining consent for cookies on your site where required by law. We describe the plugin’s cookie behavior in Section 7 of this Cookie Policy and in the “Plugin” section of our Privacy Policy.
1) What are cookies and similar technologies?
Cookies are small text files stored on your device. We also use similar technologies such as pixels/tags, local storage, and SDK identifiers for measurement and attribution. We refer to all of these collectively as “cookies” in this policy.
2) Consent and cookie controls
Where required by law (for example, in the EEA/UK), we do not set non-essential cookies unless you provide consent through our cookie banner / preferences.
You can change your choices at any time via Cookie Settings (footer link, where available) or by using your browser controls (see Section 8).
3) Cookie categories we use
We use the following categories on the Marketing Site:
Marketing / Advertising – measure campaign performance and conversions and, where enabled and permitted, support remarketing.
Strictly Necessary – essential for security, site operation, and saving cookie choices.
Preferences – remember settings such as consent preferences and UI choices.
Analytics – measure Marketing Site usage and improve performance (e.g., GA4).
4) Cookies on the Marketing Site (examples)
The exact cookies present may vary based on configuration. The most accurate view is the cookies stored by your browser and the cookies shown in our preference center (where available).
A) Strictly Necessary / Preferences (first-party examples)
pulserank_session– session identifier used for core site functions (session).cookie_consent– stores your cookie preferences (up to 1 year).
B) Analytics (GA4)
We use Google Analytics 4 (GA4) to understand how visitors use pulserank.ai and to improve site content and performance.
Common GA cookies include:
_ga– distinguishes users (up to 2 years, configurable)_ga_<container-id>– persists session state (up to 2 years, configurable)
C) Marketing / Advertising (pixels and PPC measurement)
If you consent to Marketing cookies, we may enable measurement tags such as:
Other PPC pixels (only if enabled): for example LinkedIn, TikTok, Microsoft Advertising, or similar platforms used for paid campaigns and conversion tracking.
5) Google Search Console / “Google Webmaster Tools”
We use Google Search Console as a webmaster tool for indexing and search performance reporting. Search Console itself typically does not require setting marketing cookies for normal visitors on the Marketing Site. However, if Google services are embedded or combined with other Google tags (e.g., GA4/Ads), those tags may set cookies as described above.
6) Freemius checkout, subscriptions, and customer portal (external)
Purchases, subscription management, invoices/receipts, refunds, and license management are provided through Freemius, which may act as the authorized reseller and Merchant of Record for eligible transactions.
When you proceed to checkout or access the customer portal, you will interact with the Freemius billing environment (which is hosted outside pulserank.ai). In that environment, Freemius and its service providers may set cookies and similar technologies for purposes such as:
- security and fraud prevention,
- session management and authentication,
- payment processing and checkout integrity,
- customer portal operation and preference handling.
Because these cookies are set in the Freemius environment (not on pulserank.ai), our on-site cookie banner and settings do not control them. Please refer to Freemius’s own cookie and privacy documentation for details about cookies used in checkout and the customer portal.
7) Plugin cookie (on the customer’s WordPress site domain)
If you install the PulseRank plugin on your WordPress site, the plugin may set:
pulserank_sid– a first-party session identifier cookie (7 days) used for session tracking on your domain.
Because this cookie is set on your website, you are responsible for disclosing it to your visitors and obtaining any required consent under applicable laws.
8) Managing cookies in your browser
Most browsers allow you to view, delete, or block cookies (including blocking third-party cookies). Blocking strictly necessary cookies may affect Marketing Site functionality or Freemius checkout/portal performance.
9) Updates to this Cookie Policy
We may update this policy as our technologies and vendors change. The “Last updated” date will reflect the latest version.
